February 2025 - The Diary

Into February with a return to the Victorian crime drama A TRUE MISMATCH for Amazon Prime. This was my 3rd episode and the final chapter of this wonderful show and great to be back in Officer Muir's fantastic costume, and to be working again with really talented team. We shot scenes at The Sma' Shot

in Paisley, before moving to the Old Town Jail in Stirling for more moody and oppressive scenes in this amazing location. Really enjoyed this job and working with lots of old friends on each episode. It has

been an absolute blast and proud of the production team who have created this world on a shoestring budget. You can check out the first three episodes now on Amazon Prime. Photos here are courtesy of

our brilliant costume designer Matthew Crawford Russell. We have one more day's filming later in the year and Episode 4 will be out next year. Sadly I could not make it to the premiere of MOM TANE NAI SAMJAY but great to see it finally released in cinemas across India this month.

Another really fun project and a great experience playing Robert James, Mayor Of London with a great cast and crew, pictured below. Back to a busy month at our wee fashion store in Glasgow and delighted

with this photo taken by Mark Coles on a cold February afternoon outside our shop Zico below! And speaking of Zico, we released my first piece of official merchandise, teaming up with the brilliant

Socra-Tees Tshirts to launch this homage to The Acid House film, in which I played 'Tambo' and which has gone down really well with fans of the film this month. Look out for future releases from my old back

catalogue! This shirt is based on the football strip worn by me in The Granton Star Cause, the first part of Irvine Welsh's THE ACID HOUSE trilogy and Irvine was kind enough to give us his blessing to produce

this iconic cult film jersey. Available to buy from Zico in Moncur Street or via our socials @ZicoGlasgow. Also pooped by the Kelvin ABC boxing club this month and great catching up with David Cardwell and

great to be back in a boxing gym again. Then back on set and a great fun shoot with the Royal Conservatoire Of Scotland on SUPER SPLIT. I play the malevolent lawyer David Dean in this fab short film, pictured below and had a ball working on this one. Huge thanks to my lovely agent Nancy Hudson

for this one. A great laugh and a really good wee film to do. Directed by Sam Loaiza. Then down to Dumfries and an excellent roleplay day with The Wheatley Group before returning to Glasgow and a
photo shoot and rehearsals for a play. More of that to come! Rounded off this month with more exciting auditions and booked another feature film role, shooting next month in Port Glasgow. Also honoured

this month to be awarded Best Actor at the London Director Awards for the excellent short film TRACE, Directed by Jack Murphy and out doing the rounds of festivals at the moment. A 4th Best Actor award for me which is always a nice validation of your work and is always much appreciated. And thanks to the

Barras Market for this promo video shot this month at our shop in the world famous market in the East End of Glasgow. An excellent month and really exciting projects still to come in the next 3 months.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more announcements next month as I head back out on the road!
