September 2021 - The Diary

Another busy month began with more Roleplay corporate work with Blue Beetle Productions for THE WHEATLEY GROUP in Glasgow, before teaming up with Paul Darroch again on a Voice Over for THE SKILLS TRAINING GROUP in Newton Mearns. A week later we were working together again on a

1960's spy-themed Music Video for the artist Jeff Bernstein. The track is a brilliant atmospheric instrumental, reminiscent of the 60's era and the video complements the track brilliantly. Time to

don the old Michael Caine specs and suit and great fun belting around the streets of Dunfermline in this 1960's Thunderbird! Having owned huge American muscle cars in the past it was a joy to work on! The video will be out early next year and the film doing the rounds of festivals after that. Booked another couple of short films for next month, so, pretty pleased with my output this month. And great to

see the new poster for REMNANTS, now in the edit and preparing for a release next year too!

August 2021 - The Diary

Was still shooting REMNANTS at the beginning of August, then back to Scotland for more horse-riding lessons at the Busby Equitation Centre in Glasgow, in preparation for my next role. Here I am aboard

my trusty steed Captain! Thanks to everyone at Busby for getting me into shape for the shoot and making me look good! Then to The Highlands and a fab stay in Sutherland on location for short film 1815.

The shoot was brilliant and fab to team up with lots of old pals in the cast and a brilliant Director and Crew on this excellent tale of the Highland Clearances at the time of Waterloo. Huge thanks to my new favourite horse, the bold Stephanie (above) and to Dalriada Equestrian who supplied the horses and again helped me look like a better horseman than I am! A fab experience & a brilliant film to come!!! We

finished off the month with an exciting table read of the new ORIGINS OF THE LAOICH pilot script on Zoom and great to catch up with the team once again. Fingers crossed we get this series made...!

July 2021 - The Diary

A blizzard of auditions and finally got filming on a new TV series this month! Really pleased to be able to announce that I have now wrapped on the latest Irvine Welsh series CRIME. The series, starring

Dougray Scott as Lennox will be screening on Britbox TV later in the year and was a delight to be a part of and to be a part of the wonderful literary world of Irvine Welsh once again! Once wrapped it was then time to head down to the beautiful Peak District as cameras rolled on REMNANTS. Had a blast on

this and lovely being back staying in Sheffield again for the shoot at the end of July and looking forward to seeing the finished film, a dark tale of betrayal and revenge in the brooding countryside and ominous

threat of the past catching up with my character Adrian and Directed by the brilliant Chris Boyd. Thanks to all at Jumpcut Studios and looking forward to working with this team again in the future.

June 2021 - The Diary

Delighted to see that the short film ONE NIGHT IN FLANDERS which we shot last year has won an Outstanding Achievement Award at the Berlin Flash Film Festival and is being entered in several

more as the accolades keep on rolling in. Hopefully this will help us achieve the funding to shoot the full feature film version soon. I popped up a few times this month on television, with STV's brilliant series

IN PLAIN SIGHT repeated on ITV on the 8th of June, followed by Danny Boyle's wonderful sequel TRAINSPOTTING 2 on the same night! Delighted to be formally announced as cast for the horror

short film REMNANTS this month and delighted to be a part of it. More auditions, more travel and another really hectic month but the rest of the year is now beginning to fall into place, as restrictions

begin to lift this month and some semblance of 'normality' returning...hopefully! Great to see the first advert for GUILT - Series 2 due out in the Autumn..coming soon! And with the imminent release of

Bollywood epic 83 looming, I was featured in an article for The Scottish Sun, decked up in cricket gear and had a fun photo shoot in nearby Queens Park for the piece. Thanks to the lovely Colan Lamont, the

Features Writer at the paper and to all involved in Kabir Khan's momentous sports film, which replays the 1983 Cricket World Cup in which India defied the odds to defeat a magnificent West Indies side. I landed a new television role at the tale end of the month, more about that in next month's Diary!

May 2021 - The Diary

Booked another short film, an excellent horror film, set in The Peak District and had our first rehearsals by Zoom this month. Cracking story, script and a fantastic cast all involved. Back in Glasgow I was thrilled

to be asked by my old pal, Director Luke Aherne to take on another menacing role in his latest short film entitled THE SAVAGES. We had a costume fitting at the BBC River City Studios and then to the shoot in Balfron. From then on May became a yo-yo of driving up and down to London for castings, but alas nothing came of them! All very exciting though and again many thanks to IAM for the castings!

April 2021 - The Diary

Into Q2 now for 2021 as the pandemic continues to rage worldwide, but amazingly the film industry is managing to fight back & the auditions are coming thick and fast this month. Landed a lovely role in

Nikki Fagbemi's brilliant short film WHY ME? and so it was back to London to shoot it this month. A superb cast and a wonderful & friendly talented crew on this one, Directed by Abdou Cisse and

Produced by Koby Adom (Top Boy) at DBK Studios, to be screened next year on the Sky Arts television channel. A fab gig and laughed all day with these guys, despite the subject matter which is hard-hitting

but told with such humour. Huge thanks to Laura and all at Road Casting for getting me involved. Drove back up from Watford afterwards and straight into another excellent casting for another TV series.

And finally this month, the cricket film I worked on last year now has an official cinema release date!
Really looking forward to seeing this, in which I play Toor's Boss, a gruff London garage owner.

March 2021 - The Diary

More self-tapes and more offers! A busy old month of auditioning finally paid off with another commercial shoot and another trip down south to North London.  Worked with a fab team from

Spare Part Films (above) on a great shoot for  PRUDENTIAL in the studio that formerly hosted the BBC series DRAGON's DEN. A brilliant location and team and really enjoyable job. Thanks to our fab Director
Jez Startup for a fun-filled day and his excellent team. Also this month short film BURN ON ARRIVAL

was announced as part of the Glasgow Short Film Festival and the excellent new poster revealed! Also this month the WHITE LIGHT CO short film, Directed by Julie Dunn won the Best Science Fiction Award at the Oregon Short Film Festival. Delighted also to reveal that I have been cast in a brilliant new short film

entitled 1815 and set in The Highlands in the 19th Century. We have a great cast assembled and Directed by Neil Boyle, whose work I am a big fan of. Really looking forward to this one, to again learning a bit of Gaelic and to get back on a horse! There was the first advance press for Bollywood epic SARDAR

UDHAM this month, with the release of both this feature and 83 held back from release due to the worsening pandemic in India and worldwide.  I am sure however that both will be well worth the
wait and both of these really deserve and merit a big screen release as they portray pivotal events

on an epic scale. Will keep you updated! I rounded off the month with another offer for a Feature Film shooting in Argyll later in the year, so, another busy & successful month!
