March 2014 - The Diary

The KIDNAPPED tour continued throughout March with some huge venues and great shows and lots and lots of travel! We started off with a few days in Birmingham, playing the Alexandra before moving on to the beautiful Swansea Grand.

Following these gigs we decamped to Scotland for the first time since Greenock and a mini-tour of Bathgate, Eastwood in Glasgow and Dunfermline's Carnegie Hall. It was great fun to play Eastwood again after a 20 year gap ! We received a warm welcome in Dunfermline and KIDNAPPED is the fourth show I have performed in at this lovely old theatre. Great fun to be back in Fife....!!

A much-deserved week off and then a great show at Margate's Theatre Royal, a wonderfully grand and haunted old theatre. Hopefully 'Auntie Pat' approved of our swashbuckling tale! The Q&A after the show united the Stewart and Campbell clans as well! Then back in the car and the Brook Theatre, Medway, followed by the Queens Hall, Hexham and the lovely Pomegranite Theatre in Chesterfield.

Bracknell's South Hill Park theatre was the last gig of this busy month and the show is going really well and all of the reviews and coverage so far have been so positive. The feedback from audiences on Twitter and Facebook have really enthused the cast and we look forward to April with shows in London and Scotland yet again! We managed to break two swords this month in the swashbuckling fight scenes and I was really sorry to see the demise of 'Hamish', my trusty blade since rehearsals began in December. Thanks to Inverclyde Radio for broadcasting our appeal for a replacement sword!! Catch us at the Greenwich Theatre 7-9th April. Also a huge thanks to Waterstones in Greenwich for the full KIDNAPPED window display!
