May 2022 - The Diary

Again, lots of castings coming my way and delighted to receive an offer from a short film I auditioned for way back in January! I was offered the role of Mitch O'Farrell in the short film REDEVELOPING HOPE

and shooting in early May. So, back into the car and off to Oxford for a 5 day shoot and my first role in a New York US accent. Great cast to work with, some lovely American actors and a friendly crew and it

is based on a real case in New York building and planning. Our fab director was the very talented Jian Tian Ye, and was a fully international production, with cast and crew flying in from all over the globe

and we shot the whole thing in the Said Business School in Oxford, the perfect location for this tale. Back to Scotland and a visit to the Glasgow Police Museum for research and costume fittings for my role in

a new Amazon Prime television series, A TRUE MISMATCH, in which I am playing Officer Muir. Thanks to all at the museum for their invaluable research and tour of the exhibits, charting the Glasgow polis over

the last Century and here I am above in the genuine article, on loan from the museum! Rehearsals via Zoom again this month ahead of the shoot, followed by a trip back to the beautiful Ayr Gaeity theatre

to record an interview for the upcoming documentary on the first play I produced, Des Dillon's fabulous SINGIN I'M NO A BILLY, HE'S A TIM, which is fast approaching it's 20th anniversary and still touring

and thanks to Chris Taylor and the team for a great chat and wonderful company. The programme is provisionally titled BILLY & TIM : PLAY THE TRUTH and will be screened next year. Really nice

to be asked to be a part of it. The above cartoon is courtesy of Fraser Coull, in which I am pictured as the dastardly Alisdair Ban in ORIGINS OF THE LAOICH. Booked more roleplay work this month and lots

of self tapes! The Short Film REMNANTS which I shot last year in The Peak District is scheduled to be released this summer and the photo below is a sneak peak from the film, in which 'guilt will not stay

buried' and really looking forward to seeing it! Back to the Sma Shot Cottages in Paisley to shoot my first scene on A TRUE MISMATCH with a great cast and crew again and an enjoyable Sunday afternoon at

the tail end of the month shooting Episode 2 of this Victorian crime drama, which will be coming to Amazon Prime at some point later in the year. I still have a couple of scenes to shoot next month but

really nice to be a part of and another project that could hopefully run and run! The first episode is now available on Amazon Prime UK and I shall be popping up in Episode 2. Finally booked another 20 dates

of roleplay work for the next 8 weeks and then into rehearsals for our new play for this year's Fringe, much more of which to come in the following months...
